That has to be one of the most ignorant posts I've seen on this board. We are withdrawing from Iraq on the timetable George Bush negotiated. Obama had nothing to do with it. In fact, he wanted to extend our presence, but the Iraqis wouldn't hear of it. They want us out.

Obama promised to have us out of Afghanistan and Iraq within one year of taking office. He lied. He also lied about closing Gitmo, and now, in fact, he has opened Gitmo to American citizens arrested on American soil suspected of being terrorists with no judicial review.

I guess maybe you have not been reading and listening to the news lately. Obama promised to have us out under certain conditions and those are yet to be met. You are right that we are withdrawing on a timetable set by Bush so kudos to obama for seeing that plan through.

On him lying about gitmo, ask the republican congressmen who blocked him from closing it since they did not want the prisoners to have access to our good old american justice system, fearing that all those bush era crimes would have to be investigated if they got real justice, so dont lay the blame on obama for that.

On ending the war in a year, he did end hostile involvement and ramped down the activities, so what if it took him longer to do so in a responsible manner? he still did close it. I want a president whose heart is in the right place and does his best, like he did. I think he promised Iraq, maybe am wrong but i think he said he would focus on afghanistan so we can end that too, but did not give a timeline on Afghanistan.

I was all for invading Iraq back when Bill Clinton and the Democrats told us Saddam had WMDs....

What I did say in the first post in this thread was "two of the principle reasons used by the Administration to justify the invasion of Iraq." Of course that did not suit LL's purpose. It is not a surprise because where "the most unpopular (and incompetent) President in modern history" (GW) is concerned LL will always defend him to the greatest degree possible. Even if he has to steeeeeeeeeeeeeetch the truth in order for the ends to justify his highly questionable means.

Obama NEVER promised to have us out of Afghanistan within a year. Wrong! In fact, he stated that was where Bush should have been involved with after 9-11. Get your fact straight before becoming a Bush apologists!

Lets get the hell out of Afghanistan and then elect Bachwoman as president, so we can start another war, this time with Iran.

I wonder if the USA could have a lets say 20 year period without any war going on, or would people or government kind off .......... feel restless because there was no war going on?
