Cancellation Fees - 24 hr notice

It's all good. He sent the $$ to my Paypal account.

I do not, nor have in the past asked, demanded or expected someone to pay a cancellation fee.
He offered, and I appreciated his gesture.

The situation was a bit odd since I had never met the gentleman, he booked a 3hr appt ... and was visiting from out of town.
Someone I might not EVER see as he doesn't make it to Dallas but twice per year. So chances of re-cooping the cost from him were slim.

It does get me thinking tho ... there are times I felt a cancellation fee should be paid, but I never asked.

Going forward, this will be something to consider. It all depends on the loss.

Thanks for your input everyone!

I’d go back to sleep cuz you were only dreaming a client offered a cancellation fee.

I've personally never demanded a cancellation fee. I've got more than a few regular clients who also happen to be a bit on the flaky side due to their work and personal lives-- and when they've had to bail last minute, they've always sent me a little something (a couple even pay full rate-- because they know when I do come to town, I don't see a lot of people). But... I do not ask, demand, nor expect it. Originally Posted by Grace Preston

Did Gina just compare hookers to doctors??????? They have to go thru YEARS of schooling. Did you have to go thru schooling for escorting? Probably not Originally Posted by mrredcat43

As BLM said, one of the costs of doing business for providers is guys canceling the session. Just like having to pay for an incall, supplying drinks before or after the session, and yes, spending some time PM, emailing or texting and talking on the phone answering inquiries.

Of course, the guys also have to pay the cost of hobbying, involving time, wear and tear on their vehicle to have to drive across town in traffic, pay tolls and parking at hotels, having to wait in the parking lot until the prior john leaves or because the provider is not ready at the time of the appointment after having scheduling 24+ hours in advance and do not forget having to pay full price for half ass service.

All I can say is ... when you choose a quality provider, you typically won't be left in the parking lot or seeing her directly after another John.

I'm sorry you feel you've paid tolls & wore out your tires.
If you are blown away stammering back to your car ... I'm sure you will be knowing ... DAMN ... SO WORTH IT!

Take also into consideration, we gals have to pay for delivered meals, tipping the housekeeping, additional costs of self upkeep (tanning, makeup, shoes, lingerie, Mani-Pedis, Toys, etc, etc).
Just saying.

24 hour advance notice shouldn't be assessed anything.

"... My big question is ... since it was a 3hr appointment, should it be a flat fee .... or a percentage of the expected income? ..,"

in my hobby opinion,

1. if you wanna have a cancellation policy, just make sure the client knows about it prior to or during the time he is making the appt. better to know before hand than be "surprised" later on.

2. if you have a cancellation fee, i would suggest it be a flat fee based on appt length - say 25$ for 1hr, 50$ for 2hrs, etc., not a percentage of the appt fee.
like someone else mentioned, doctors & dentists and even beauticians charge a flat fee for missed appts or cancellations w/ in some time frame, not a percentage of the estimated fee.

you can consider other aspects of your business and/or real life when determining the amount of cancellation fee, but the fee should be based on the appt and nothing else (like housing/hotel costs, clothing/makeup, other business or personal expenses to her paid).

but since he offered it, i'd accept it. (which you dud - attaboy for him and good for you !!!)

forget expecting a cancellation fee from a guy---
IT AIN'T GONNA HAPPEN

--the girls can read on INFOSHARE all the posts girls have made about guys who have received service, then run out with out paying--
-if he runs out on paying you when yuo DO provide service, he obviously is not going to pay when you do NOT provide service
