Here is one of the most common types of threads that is "CLOSED" (if not THE most common):

http://www.eccie.net/showthread.php?t=437802

It was closed for a couple of reasons. First, she is the OP and requested it. Maybe she anticipates a big string of comments and just would prefer to avoid it, or maybe she does not want the thread to take up a lot of bandwidth. Second, it is not really the best way to make these requests. Usually a PM or email sent to the Mods is better. But we don't really care. We will do what she asks. In both instances. And this is not WK'ing. (Christ, some on here really need to stop throwing that phrase around so much.) It is just common courtesy to both her and the board. Helps keep things cleaner.

And that's the thing... most of this type of stuff done is very low impact and just eliminates clutter. The original post that this thread is discussing was going nowhere. To charge that it was closed because a Mod practices favoritism with a provider (which was implied elsewhere) is ludicrous. Some here really need to step back and consider what they are saying.... and who they are saying it about.

And... as already pointed out... if ya' didn't get a chance to say what you wanted to say on a "closed" thread, you can always start another. Prohibited topics exempted, of course.

WKing by mods does not to be a big problem in upstate. But I'm sure some will disagree with me on that. But there is WKing.

If one was to look in other areas of the board. By mods is out there. Way things are going in in upstate. I would think mods may be being cut off of the chance of meeting some of the gals for being a mod.
I never understand the passion over closed threads. Threads are rarely closed, and even more rarely closed prematurely (with or without ulterior motives on the part of the evil Mods). Anyone who wants to prolong the discussion can start a new, identical thread.

I look at it this way. Mods here are not perfect. but then nobody on the board is.

If mods here where very bad. There would be a invasion. And that has not happened. Not that it couldn't.

mmmmm got more to say be have to run. I got a call

I have never understood why a request by the OP should have any merit as far as closing a thread. If the OP cannot take the heat from their original post then maybe they should have thought about what they wrote prior to hitting the submit button. We all are accountable for what we post.

I have a greater problem with 'removed' threads.

Makes me think dementia has set in. Example being the threads started by the disabled provider. Poof gone. I know it was spam so I'm not at all questioning the mods, who I believe are doing a good job here. I just second guess my memory.

I really had some great lines to add about long walks on the beach and wheelbarrows.
