Always dim lighting. Not only does it “set the mood”, but I have a few eye conditions and hotel lights are especially harsh on delicate eyes
I’m setting up fire hazards here and there...
Scarf draping over lamp? ✔️
Candles lit? ✔️
Etc, etc.
Of course no TV. That is an unwanted distraction. However, I do try to be accommodating and if someone requests TV on or lights on I am happy to oblige - unless I’m having a particularly bad eye day, in which case I can brighten the room as much as possible while still keeping me comfortable and engaged
