Can the hive recommend a good hobby phone/plan

Google is in the information about people and their habits business. ijs. Get a dedicated dumb phone, pay cash for it. This is about pussy, don't get cute or try to outsmart yourself or anybody else. Simple, disposable, separate.

There are pros and cons to both. Ultimately everything leaves a trail, it's just what amount of "risk" you're willing to take on. It is hard to text on a hobby phone during a meeting in the middle of the day. That's why I prefer google voice. 1 phone, less hassle.

Skype is owned by Microsoft now and is no longer peer to peer. Everything is running through a centralized server, much like google. Just wanted to throw that out there if people are looking at Skype as an alternative to Google Voice.

and even if we call them "throw-away" phones, i strongly request and suggest that you consider recycling your no-longer-needed-or-wanted phone.

clear the phone's memory and then recycle it or give it to an organization that will recycle it.
