I will admit, I read the recall thing incorrectly, at the time I was so pissed about the veterans visiting the WWll memorial amongst other things, that my brain was stuck in blonde mode.....
BUT, as to the gentlemen who stated that some of the women on WIC should get jobs and stop asking for handouts, the majority of women on WIC are employed. These aren't food stamps, they help buy food specifically for infants and young children. Things like formula, cereal, cheese, milk and juice. It does not purchase things like soda or candy. Only things to help the innocents in all of this, the kids, get proper nutrition.
Halting the program, ensures that these children will experience other health issues, so how does it make any sense to halt this program, in the name of health?
I am one of those Americans that Obamacare would actually help. I am a cancer survivor and because of my pre-existing condition, getting health insurance has been cost prohibitive to me.......but I would rather pay more in insurance than know that 9 million pregnant women and babies can't get the proper nutrition during a time that will impact their health not just now, but in the future.
Our commander in chief is acting like a spoiled petulant child, who if he can't get his way, exactly how he wants it, no one else can have anything either, even if it means those others go without pay, food, and necessities to live while he continues to live in a home that our tax dollars pay for, has a pay check, and food on his table.
What he is pulling is the same bullshit that he played during the sequester, he is making sure we all feel his reigning dictatorship.
As to the NOAA, 6,601 of their employees were sent home without pay. They will continue to update for critical weather, but according to their web sites home page:

The rest of the NOAA employees received this letter;"Because your services are no longer needed for orderly suspension of operations and you are not engaged in one of the excepted functions, you are being placed in a furlough status effective October 1, 2013
