Damn that brings back memories. Technology has made the hobby a better place.

Yellow pages and Observer type papers were so hit and miss. There were a few occasions when I had to politely tip a lady to go away.

It was always such a rush waiting in the hotel room and see what showed up and if you were going to have a good time.

Damn those were the days!

Growing up, the greensheet ads were porn and I couldn't believe that in the phone book, there was a listing for "sex", "strip" came shortly after.

Then I placed ads in the Observer, it was a trip seeing myself in paper format.

If you had a 2400 baud modem you were in high cotton. The first one I owned was 1200 baud, though I used an older acoustic coupled 300 baud one in a library before that!!

When on the road in the 80s I used the yellow pages. The agency would have girls call until you found one you liked. Often the girl would call back on her own and cut a private deal. Since there was no agency fee, it was very affordable.
