And as for wanting to see the lady un - airbrushed/shopped/chopped, I personally always preferred to have pictures that have none of the above alterations - yet it seems to some, that the pictures are classified as "unprofessional" ... and I'm like "What???"

The difference is in having the photos color corrected, balanced, 'framed' and finished to create a 'real' photo that looks like the person, but is done to maximize the results of the photograph.
If you can tell someone has been altered to change their appearance - bad. If it seems like it's a picture your friend shot haphazardly with their phone- bad. You need the middle ground that just enhances the affect of the photo. Similar to make-up...it's the same person, just maximized to highlight positive features and downplay less positive features.
