I would think Syracuse is a better alternative as it has few providers and is significantly larger than Utica. It has a central location that allows road trips in either direction -- to Buffalo or Albany (or Utica if one must).

I'd like to know who the idiots are that designated Buffalo as "upstate". We're western NY. Just because we're not NYC or Long Island. You can call that downstate if you want, I'll never call this area upstate. And Utica looks closer to Albany to me, at least on the map. But I don't know how the "upstate" population is distributed. That probably has a bigger impact than the distance.Hahaha that is funny
