ATTN: Banned members of ASPD

Just something to consider: Some members may have been banned for very valid reasons and some of these reasons you may not even be aware of. Perhaps maybe even a danger to the community...??

Just saying, while your intentions may be honorable, proceed with care because you may unknowingly be doing more harm than good.

However, I have long since noticed that one site's "banned member" is another site's most prolific and respected poster. I don't see anything wrong with letting people have their own reviews for their records, should they choose to repost them. When they repost them, they're hobbying reputations will follow and that has to be a good thing, right? If they're an angel or a devil, people will recognize the reviews or the handle or the writing style and say, "I remember old so-n-so. He was a (fill in the blank)."

I'm not vouching for anyone or trying to get them in the VIP section. They have to do that for themselves, as always.
Reproduce from them at your own risk. They may choose to ban you, kill your reviews, I suppose even sue you but I highly doubt that. I believe this type of statement is intended to protect the site interface from being hijacked or reproduced elsewhere, not necessarily the content of the reviews. My thoughts are that the experience is mine and if I choose to write about it here also, who's gonna stop me? Originally Posted by enderwiggin

Allowing everyone to start with a clean slate is not the same thing as embracing everyone who have been banned and welcoming them with open arms. Let's be careful with that....it seems to be going a little overboard.

Short answer. Make new experiences and post those experiences here.

Most prolific posters and respected posters are two entirely different things. They are mutually exclusive. Just because a person is a frequent poster doesn't necessarily make him a good guy. He's just posts often.

Further, a member's reputation doesn't necessarily follow a person -to an extent, certainly it can, but that doesn't necessarily make it so.

If a person was banned from a site for say, roughing-up a woman, a persistent stalker, outing someone, or things of that nature, and he was subsequently banned from Site A because of that, and you're allowing him to build his reputation/street cred on Site B by assisting in capturing reviews in his stead, and no one is aware of his behavioral history on Site B, you're exposing Site B to a danger through your efforts.

Do you really know the person who's behind the handle and do you know why the person was banned? If this person fucks-up and does the same thing here that they did over there and you knowingly assisted in his rep-building are you going to be alright with that?

You're free to do what you want. I'm just saying that you could be doing more harm than good.

I've already sent those that requested my help their reviews and they will do with them what they will. As always, we will have to trust in our community here and each provider's own screening/vetting methods to keep us safe.

I will sleep with a clean conscience though. I'm not going to be made to feel responsible for someone else's willful actions, no more than a gun store owner should be made to feel responsible if someone commits a crime with a gun he sold.

Cool! Thanks for understanding. I'm sure that you had the best of intentions but I've been playing in this sandbox a fairly long time and some of the crap that people pull will surprise you.

Peace and Happy Hobbying!
OK, I have a question about banned ASPD/Home2 members. If a provider was banned from both sites for blackmailing/trying to blackmail clients, is she accepted here?
kinda what i was thinking sofa
If sets anyone's mind at ease, the majority of the people I helped weren't banned at all. They are just less tech-savvy and needed help transferring.

It's probably best to ask this question by starting a new thread in the "Ask The Staff" forum because it'll likely get lost in the mix here...or maybe not..? good question though.
