Ok, ok, just kidding... But still don't understand why they get mad or refuse to give references. Hmmm.... Like guykc said, the few ladies I have seen are all awesome, both BCD and GOR...

Yes a good Provider will give a reference.
I always give ya guys a good reference...always!
I think I've only been asked for references a handful of times. I've always just dropped a P411 handle or ECCIE handle and said look me up online... I'll send you an inbox if necessary.... that usually works.

Okay, on a more serious note. There are many connections and some of them are cross connections, in other words I know a provider and refer a friend to her etc. What I don't like is when someone does not seem to want or need to check me out, that fires a red flag for me anyway. I know newbies have more of a challenge in this regard but there are ways to get verified even if one is a newbie. As with any endeavor a good attitude goes a long way IMO.
I don't have any horror stories about jealous providers thank goodness, I usually just get the silent treatment. They don't even bother to let me know that they do not give references.
If I go to the trouble of texting, calling AND e-mailing an escort to ask her a question and she totally blows me off, I can only imagine her customer service skills are just as lacking.
Maybe we should start a list of providers who do not give references? LOL.
I'm sure that wouldn't go over well, so nevermind.
:P
As far as I can see, this site, others like it and the provider world in general... some people have beef. You never know who (or how) you may have slighted someone or why they would have something against you. Some providers don't exchange reference information because they don't like (for whatever reason) the provider asking the question. Some don't exchange a reference because they don't like (for whatever reason) the client who is needing the reference. Some don't exchange a reference because they may feel that communicating with other providers comes at the risk of added drama... and from what I've seen on this site since becoming a moderator, that can be exceedingly true.

But, if you find that you're constantly not getting someone's provider reference, just don't accept calls from people who want to use that person as a reference and be clear to the client as to why you require then to reference someone else.

Some newbie friendly providers use alternative screening methods than using their peers for referencing... some of these methods are more effective than others.

I usually don't have this problem at all. It's just here recently that I've been noticing problems getting a hold of other providers for references.
I'm assuming it's because a lot of girls are unfortunately flaky and are giving the guys the same run around.
I'm not newbie friendly so I don't rely on other methods of screening.
A lot of explanations have been offered, I just wish more providers would realize that the practice of giving and receiving references is good for all of us and helps to keep all of us safer.
You can add me to the list of providers that don't give or require references.

This does not mean that I lack customer service skills or that I am afraid of a client seeing someone else. They can see who ever they want to see... just like I'm going to do.

I am just one of those that thinks that my business is just that.. my business. Why would I tell a total stranger about someone that I've met with previously? I never will. Why? Because I am discreet.

Not playing the reference game does not make me a reckless provider. It makes me a provider that doesn't want to get involved with other providers. And FS is correct. After reading the latest drama filled thread in the coed section... who in their right mind can blame me?
Thank you for your input Leanna, I was wondering when one of you would chime in.
I understand that you like to keep your business your own. And if you're still screening clients in a different manner, you're still playing it safe.
When I contact another provider asking for references, I ask is if she has seen him, (as he is obviously claiming that she has), and if there is anything I need to know about him that could compromise my health or safety.
That doesn't cross the line over into being indiscreet.
Also, one sent and received e-mail does not an alliance/friendship make. You can still play the lone wolf and contribute to the hobby community which you are a part of.

I let him know that his reference isn't responding. That is why I ask for 2 provider references. If one doesn't answer, the other probably will. Originally Posted by Allie_Kat
