As for the OP. I'm so sorry you are having problems. I know you are in dire need but, my thoughts are, when you publicly admit you are getting no business you make yourself look undesirable and desperate. With all due respect, honestly, that is a huge turn off for (decent) guys. However, every shady, manipulative weirdo will come out of the woodworks to "help you" in your time of need. Also, maybe a few honest yet incredibly gullible guys will offer help.

Agreed. Clients don't want to be bothered with our personal problems, unless they are close to us and actual friends, and it is completely understandable not to want to take on someone else's drama. Desperation is the world's worst cologne. It will, however, put you on the radar of sketchy guys who will try and take advantage of you.
Rather than publicly advertise your financial distress, it's better to offer a special rate, and/or an extra-special rate for established clients to prepay a second session for a discount or extra time. I did this recently and it worked out really well.
Not sure how long you've been working, but there are seasonal ups and downs that become predictable if one pays attention. Off the top of my head, around Memorial and Labor Day, and after the Xmas holidays tend to be very slow.
