I'm all for making it impossible for anyone to make money the way Sam Polk did.
..... and a CEO who builds a company into a $100 billion conglomerate should end up broke in prison over $100 million or so and a shower curtain and a Degas ... so that the real crooks can move in to ride the coat tails.

It is so easy to change the subject by blaming the media, Hollywood, class warfare, and politicians on either side, but what is lacking in this discussion is anything thoughtful about the reality of the misdeeds of Wall Street and the financial institutions.

Obama & the dems that had total control of Congress and could pass ANYTHING they wanted, did.... and exploded the deficit in the process. If Bush spent like a drunken sailor, Obama spent it like someone with a serious gambling problem. Kinda like his fiscal policy.... all our problems (that of course he inherited) could just be solved if he threw more money at it. Our currency is gonna turn to shit if they continue to print money.... we need to go back to the gold standard, get rid of the manipulative Fed, and have a FLAT tax that is the same for everyone with NO deductions or loop holes. How many pages would that take to print? Law makers should be part time, there should be NO ruling class. One of my biggest fears is that, not that Obama will buck convention and change the Constitution to serve a 3rd term, but that Hillary will get into Office, and afterwards Obama will run AGAIN. (I don't think there is much to stop him from doing it.... think Putin.) As a country were fucked, cuz the takers out number the makers, and will never vote out Santa Claus. Whoever, regardless of Party, promises the most "free" shit, will win.

I am not sure where I will one day retire (if I am ever able) but it may not be in America. I never thought I'd consider that, but I am.

I will get off my soap box, and do my best to refrain from getting on it again. Can't we get back to talking about hot chicks?

Most of the increase in the deficit in Bush's last budget was due loss of revenue due to people losing there jobs. But bush's $800 or so deficits before the collapse were obscene and those that are presenting themselves as conservatives now, didn't think twice about spending it back then. Lest we not forget that one of the reasons the deficit went up under Obama was that he included the cost of the wars in his numbers, some Bush didn't do because it wasn't "an ongoing expense" or some nonsense. Today's deficit is about half of what was when Obama took office. Obama didn't increase spending other than the first 2 years for the stimulus and in terms of constant dollars, spending is lower than it was when he took office. So exactly where do you get your information?
The fact is that since the time of reagan, republicans have been fiscally irresponsible, much to the detriment of the country.

I'm not answering because Jack said it was off topic. Your numbers suck by the way

Besides, doing the ol' MSNBC-FOX news debate here will change exactly zero people's minds. Certainly I can't argue you one way, or you me the other.

But I will agree, the repubs have sucked in spending since Reagan.... but would counter their just buying votes and lining their pockets.... like damn near all of em do regardless of stripe. Washington needs an enema.
