Is there really an "outside" the hobby?
I turn my phone's GPS on and off as needed. Also, never take photos in the area of the lady you are seeing etc.....

Years ago I once told a former friend of mine that finding someone on the net and where they are is easy. She laughed till about 1 year ago, I showed her location on "reunion.com" a social website that she joined, and it asked her for her address. It even gave me a LINK to a web map to the local area (like a 4 block square). I tested it being the nerd I am and sure enough it will give you a small area to hang out if you wanted to be a creep.

Best address to put on any site that asks for it is one of like the Reliant Stadium or once I put 61 Reisner street (Houston's Police dept)

As for "tracking" the technology has been around since the early 90's. Originally Clinton was intending to sign an executive order to REQUIRE manufacturers to install the chip in ALL mobile phones sold/manufactured in the U.S. It was done.

"On board" GPS for consumers didn't come along until well after that and has nothing to do with the chip technology. There are some phones reportedly built and sold outside of U.S. that cannot be tracked, but they have to be "accepted" by a provider in U.S.

There was not long ago a federal prosecution in which the FBI introduced remotely recorded cell phone "conference" conversation in a meeting room without the cooperation of the cell phone owner/holder.

How does the NSA "eavesdrop" on cell conversation to compare to data base?

Many operators send automatic software updates over the air, then reboot the phone remotely when the update is completed. Similar to what your computer does with OS or virus updates. They can do the same with eavesdropping software.
just dont post any.....plain and simple. take fotos from a camera....and if u must from your camera phone....upload from pc not phone. you still can be identified (pic searches)....but ur gps location is not going to be tracked to pc.
