The rhetoric in this post are just as reprehensible and simple-minded as the rhetoric in the OP. Both parties are responsible for the runaway spending and failed fiscal policies that have caused our current economic downturn. And neither are offering any real solutions to the problem, just dumping the blame on their whipping boy of choice: for Dems, Bush -- for Repubs, Obama.

Hell I am sorry I thought you guys new about google, try googling "dow close jan 3rd 2007" or "gdp 2006" or Barney Frank and Chris dodd. These are not hyperbole they are facts. Now you may not like them but they are facts. Just as 1977: Jimmy Carter (D) signs the Community Reinvestment Act, guaranteeing home loans to low-income
families
1999: Bill Clinton (D) puts the CRA on steroids, pushing Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac to increase the number
of sub-prime loans.
2003: The White House calls Fannie and Freddie “a systemic risk.” The Bush administration pushes Congress
to enact new regulations.
2003: Barney Frank (D-CN) says F&F are “not in a crisis.” He bashes Republicans for crying wolf and calls
F&F “financially sound.” Democrats block the Republican-sponsored regulation legislation.
2005: Federal Reserve Chairman Alan Greenspan voices a warning over F&F accounting. “We are placing the
total financial system of the future at a substantial risk
A brief history of the financial crisis, part 2
2005: Sen. Charles Schumer, (D-NY) says “…I think Fannie and Freddie over the years have done an
incredibly good job and are an intrinsic part of making America the best-housed people in the world …if
you look over the last 20 or whatever years, they’ve done a very, very good job.”
2006: Sen. John McCain (R-AZ) again calls for reform. “For years I have been concerned about the
regulatory structure that governs Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac … and the sheer magnitude of these companies
and the role they play in the marketplace … the GSE’s (government sponsored enterprises) need to be
reformed without delay.”
2006: Democrats again block reform legislation.
2008: housing market collapses; Democrats blame the Republicans
Give me a break.

I remember when Clinton went ballistic in December 2000 when Cheney said the first thing they had to work on was the economic "situation" looming in the country.

Last I heard Obaminable volunteered for this position, and he knew the economic situation. He's a whiner, among other negatives, but simply doesn't have a clue. Biden is simply an out right liar, because he knows better.

And their California nut-case, Pelosi, is in her "league" of her own. Her qualifications:

"I am from California."

Surplus and Deficit are relative terms in the Federal Government. The GAO doesn't follow GASB. They write their own standards according to how it benefits their "boss" at the time.
Hell, even facts aren't facts when it comes to that shit but the fact is that the numbers are so big no one comprehends them.
Shouldn't unfunded liabilities be considered part of the deficit? That makes it 100 trillion dollars. 1 trillion, 100 trillion nobody understands the difference. How many zeros is that anyway. 100,000,000,000,000 the difference is just 2 zeros. Can't be all that different can it?
Obama said it was time to clean up the mess the Republicans made. OK. He's had 18 months to do that. Point to all the numbers you want to make your case that he's made a difference. All the proof about the economy I need I see on my financial statements every month and it ain't good and the outlook from my customers ain't good either. Some want to tax the rich more. What do we do when they run out of money or they all leave the country. Where does our revenue stream come from then.
Many people don't like the idea but we have to get back to producing products in the US. That's the only real solution to turning our economy around. Regulations need to be relaxed, tax code needs to be re-written, anything we need to do to spur real growth and job creation needs to be put at the forefront. Anything else like printing more money is just a temporary fix. It creates hyper inflation which makes the huge numbers even bigger but makes it look like we are doing better. We'll be looking back fondly on our $750 car notes and wishing we could afford that new $150,000.00 Ford Focus on our measly $350,000 per year salary The GDP will be growing by leaps and bounds but we will be producing less and less.
Sure, the environment is important, taking care of our own FIRST is important, protecting our interests abroad is important but none of it will mean a damn thing when China overtakes us in GDP in a few years. They will be sitting in the cat bird's seat while the rest of us are scratching our unemployed asses wondering where our next meal is coming from. The people in charge aren't worried about it because they'll be the ones that handed it all over. They think they'll be taken care of. Yeah Right!
There is plenty of blame to go around. You can point to administrations all the way back to the guilded age and find someone to blame for the fix we are in now. The only reason we should looking back though is so we don't repeat the same mistakes of the past but we can't even learn from that.
Nothing short of a boom like the industrial revolution is going to bring us back. We need to stop pointing fingers and asking "why?" and put our noses to the grind stone and start saying "how?"
OK flame away!

But yea your right the biggest budget hawk in a position of power who effected some real change is just a shit bag, and that ass hat Newt Gingrich wasn't revolutionary for appointing a true budget hawk to a real position of power, he was just a shit bag too. Seriously pull your head out of your ass and read since you didn't pay attention when you were living it.

Under Kasik the long term capital gains rate was cut too (1996 it went in effect I believe). Just in case you forgot. There was NO TAX INCREASES DURING HIS TERM AS BUDGET CHAIRMAN. Ohh and he worked for Fox news for a time too. I believe it was Heartland with John Kasik IIRC. He also filled in for both Sean Hannity and Bill O'Reilly as the host and was a guest too.

Seriously blow me if you think your going to make me out to not be a seriously fiscally conservative person, I routinely download the economic report of the president and look at raw historical data in the appendix and contrast it to public tax and appropriation policies so no god damn fucking cable new sound bite ass hat fuckers can bull shit me about the facts. Do you? Obviously not if you don't know who John Kasik is.

Yea and obviously your not the worlds largest economy, go figure.

The misspelling was no big deal except for it setting me to wondering if there was some other cat with a similar name to Kasich who chaired the House Budget Committee. I don't have no TV and sometimes the references to stuff like Fox TV confuse me. How anybody watches any of it is a mystery to me.

Excellent cat, Kasich; probably make a fine POTUS. Wouldn't that be grand!
