Im happy to be that guy...you say that like it is a bad thing. In some cases yes I do. But I think sports fanatics give a pass to easily to sports stars.

As far as redemption goes....I wrote him off along with most professional athletes long ago because they think they are somehow more important than "regular" folks. Just like movie starts. Guess what, if they stopped playing our world would not change a lick. Their job is not even close to being important.

So yeah, I'll gladly be that guy.

Nothing you said was incorrect. I don't want my children looking up to people they don't know as role models, and no they're not important. Fun to help occupy some time and for some a matter of civic pride, but not essential by any means.

I'm just not sure how Ben is a "looser" now... earlier in life yes, but he certainly seems to be winning nowadays. It sure looked that way after the Monday night game.

Young people make stupid decisions. Young people who have lots of money and women thrown at them make even more stupid decisions

Ill grant you I know nothing about the man now, I suppose it is possible to make up for fucked up things you have done in the past but when you fuck up other peoples lives with bad mistakes and are still able to go on with your life with no repercussions that does seem balanced to me. He may have straightened out his life but not sure he has paid any price for the fucked up things he did.

I often wonder if he would have even been playing if old man Rooney was still running the show instead of the kids.
