Google voice or disposable phones should be a given. If you're smart, you have at least one bank account separate from your SO anyway. Having a reasonable excuse to be away from your SO for a period of time is key. You can't just start making up questionable excuses. And while on business trips, don't put two meal room service deliveries on the hotel bill or a cc.

And, for those that have SO's that sometimes like to join the business trip, get your schedules straight. Also, consider not having dinner with a gal Scrabble player at the same hotel's restaurant.
Cause; Hotel parking attendents will not stop your SO from breaking all the glass on "her" car (but they will make sure the cameras are working).
