What's credit?
Isn't it a ticket against the car? Had a car ticket before (street sweeping) I never paid it.
I ended up selling car as it was up for sale and it was never anything against me to go on my credit or anything.
An unpaid ticket can get you a boot on the car if you're the current owner and you owe them.

The entity/agency who wrote the ticket run the registration on the vehicle, search for the SSN, and then "assign" the ticket/debt to the SSN of the registered owner. Surely you don't believe your SSN is a "secret"!

Credit reports were originally (and somewhat still are) powered by name and ADDRESS.

So it would be pretty easy to ding the car owner's credit report.

But....LL has told us before.....that most people are driving around in someone else's car. So it would be their report getting dinged.

That latter detail might make it easier to dispute that hit and have it removed from the report.
