I don't spend much time on clueless fucktards. Brief comments are the most I can offer.

MTW is a newbie mod. As such, he has acted as many newbies do. He is a little bit heavy handed in moderating; sometimes he may be a little too quick to moderate or too picky about the rules. He has, however, also been faced with a few members who seem to have made it their sole purpose in life to harass him. With them, he has been remarkably restrained. He has allowed far more trash talking than I would have. One should also note that he started out much more subtly. He would give warnings by PM. Only after someone publicly called him out complaining that they had gotten points when all they got was a private warning that he started getting more heavy handed.
Overall, I think MTW is pretty much the moderator that South Texas has earned. This all started when one member accused ElGato of trading preferential treatment of a manager in exchange for free sessions with the manager's harem.ElGato dropped the ball in handling the situation. His only public comment was something along the lines of Luigi shut up. I don't know if he was doing anything privately, but if he was, it was ineffectual. I'm not necessarily blaming him; he was pretty much in a no win situation; he was the only active mod at the time, so he may not have had time to deal with it. Nevertheless, he didn't handle it. As far as I know (Gasp! Could it be true?) the charge may have been accurate. I don't have enough information even to make me lean one way or the other.
Not only that, but other members of the board exacerbated the problem. If everyone would have ignored Luigi, he probably would have gotten tired of arguing with himself and shut up, but no, people had to pile on, argue with him, and goad him on. The end result was that the South Texas forums, which had been pretty much gliding along UTR, so to speak, attracted the attention of the Eccie admins.
Now just to be clear, the Eccie admins do not report to the membership of the site. The report to the owners of the site, and I doubt that the owners of the site care much about the state of hobbying in South Texas. Since they seem to be based in Dallas, they may care about the state of hobbying in that city. They probably care quite a bit about the revenue that the site generates. They may hope that the site will help hobbyists in South Texas, but we are a pretty small part of the Eccie site, and the owners are unlikely to put what might be best for South Texas ahead of what they perceive to be best for the site as a whole or for the larger areas of the site. In the end, they chose MTW, and I would be surprised if he has not received significant coaching from the admins and more experienced mods. I am pretty sure that the admins approve of the job he is doing, or maybe they don't care. Maybe they feel that they addressed the immediate problem and we are again out of their sights. Either way, we ended up with the mod that some of us deserved.
Sorry this is so long winded and pedantic, but the situation is actually quite a bit more complex that what I could put here.
