Russell Westbrook seeks trade out of OKC in the next few weeks before training camp. Miami front runner to trade for him, Russ likes destination and ability to play with Jimmy Butler. Phoenix also interested to make a deal. OKC blowing up the team after the Paul George ordeal. They have over 10 picks in the next 4 drafts, all picks in the first rounds.
Lakers have signed Demarcus "Boogie" Cousins, Javale McGee, Rajon Rondo, Avery Bradley, Danny Green and Jared Dudley this last week to fill out their roster. Are they a competitor now? Guess we shall see.
Denver Nuggets land Jeremi Grant prying him from OKC in trade. If they weren't tough before. They only traded a draft pick for him.
Well now Marcus Morris, who had agreed to a 2 year, $20 million deal with the Spurs, is renigging on his deal (the contract was written up but nothing had been signed yet) to take a 1 year, 15 million deal to play with the Knicks ..... well bye, see ya ..... hope it's a ton of fun playing with those losers ..... and now it's being reported that Ka-whiny has changed his Clippers contract to a 2+1 deal, meaning it's now a 3 year, $103 million maximum contract with a player option on that 3rd year .....this makes his contract the same length as Paul George's - both players will have the option of entering free agency in 2021 (and the Clippers may be more than ready by then to let Ka-whiny go if Uncle Dennis becomes the pain in the ass to them as he was to us) ..... but this does set up the possibility of Ka-whiny and George moving over to the Lakers once, or if, LeBron is no longer there .....
Yeah, the Marcus Morris ordeal has pissed off a lot of people. I even had a welcome post up. We traded Bertans so we could sign him. Now we are left to fill a roster spot with minimal talent still on the market. Screwed us big time.
Both George and Kawhi likely sign 5 year supermax extentions for more money. 2 years is better than signing a 4 year max now. Hell, taking less now means Davis may be able to join them across the hall if he doesn't like playing with Lebron.
Not exactly Spurs related, although it does involve teams within their division ..... holy crap can this off season get any more weird? ..... Adrian Wojnarowski broke the news earlier tonight "the Oklahoma City Thunder have agreed to trade Russell Westbrook to the Houston Rockets for Chris Paul, 2 first round draft picks in 2024 and 2026, plus they will swap first round picks in 2021 and 2025" ..... so now you got Westbrook and Harden on the floor together, it doesn't make any sense but it sure will be fun to watch the Rockets implode this season ..... meanwhile the Thunder are smartly stockpiling 1st round draft picks and with ex-Spur front office employee and Thunder GM Sam Presti running the team, I expect them to continue to draft very well (as the Spurs have done the past few seasons) and become a very good team again a few years down the road .....
Marcus Morris does not surprise me. It's just a continuation of the collapse of this franchise.
He likely called Kawhi to get the inside poop.
LA asked for a trade, what, 3 years ago?
Kawhi just quit playing for the team 2 years ago.
Don't expect ANY hott-shot FA's coming here anytime in the forseeable future.

Timmy rejoins the Spurs as an assistant coach to Coach Greg Popovich. This is awesome news!

Spurs retooled the Front office as well last few days. RC Buford becomes the CEO of Spurs Sports and Entertainment while we also promoted a new GM in Brian Wright.
Really liking the front office moves. Looking forward to seeing Timmy on the sidelines with Hammon and Pop.
First order and public request for RC, bring back our Silver Dancers please!
More teams disbanding their girls...

Pretty soon it will be a luxury/elite item on girls menus to dress like a cheerleader/dancer during a session. Because we sure as hell won't be seeing them in basketball soon.
Love the back to back with Warriors and Clippers 3 and 4 games into the season with Lakers right after. Will be a crazy ride this year out West.

Tony Parker will have a retirement ceremony, and is announced already. Will be ok Nov 11 when we play against the Grizzlies.
One month to go until the season starts ..... feels like it's been a year since they last played .....I hate the off seasons of MLB, the NFL, and the NBA, but waiting for the Spurs season to get going is always the worst .....
With what has happened to the shifting West this is going to be a most interesting season to watch.
Clippers
Lakers
Rockets
Spurs stability may be a huge asset.
We shall see.

I know we're well past 2020 but do any Spurs fans have any thoughts/comments about the Spurs winning the draft lottery and drafting Wenbanyama? ..... Is he the next generational star for the Spurs and the NBA? .....
