I'm pretty sure that it was done to help Matty G run cover for his bad deeds of running with Staff Edit - Biomed1. Trump likely applauds that type of behavior; aligns with his locker-room talk mentality and general misogamy towards women and assaulting them. The two of them running cover for each other, should make every American worry what that would be like if Gaetz were to be confirmed.

Trolling, or simply giving the guy a card on how to walk out of a bad situation is fine- but that nomination is clearly not gonna be something that will fly in congress unless there is the illegal recess nomination baloney that was already ruled on by SCOTUS. Gaetz will find another role in the administration however- likely low level coffee boy or perhaps press secretary. Those don't last too long in the Trump Administration- ask Spicey or the Mooch.

I might agree with those who feel that Gatz and Nome are suboptimal cabinet picks. However there may be a deeper game at play.

When these nominees are not approved, my novel character president would then nominate someone more credentialed and . but someone the progressive left really doesn't like. With the previous bruising hearings fresh in their memory, it may be that the Republican senators fall in line to move the Trump agenda forward . . .and SHAZAM . . .the real nominees get a rapid confirmation.
