What do you do before an appointment?

same as all the above.Except I keep the guys clean shaven at all times so that I don't have to deal with the razor rash at appointment time.Yes,I wash my hands when I arrive.By the time I have arrived my hands have been on the steering wheel for close to an hour at times. Then handling the cash which everyone knows spreads more viruses than just about anything else.
I usually eat a couple mints on the way to keep my breath fresh and then mouthwash when I arrive.
All the hygiene stuff listed for men with the exception of shaving the boys.

Plus, I make it a point to trim my fingernails and make sure the nails are clean. Need to throw an emery (sp?) board in the glove box...
Go to the ATM!

Chew on a couple of aspirins, just in case the lady puts me through one hell of a work-out...

No one mentioned cell phones.

Prior to going in either turnoff the ringer, or turnoff the phone.

As will be self evident, I get pretty anal about my routine, so forgive me if I ramble, but here goes...

Few days before an appt:
If I've gotten lax in manscaping, I'll shave the boys and trim down the man bush. I like to do this early to avoid any rash or nicks the day of.
I'll also start taking extra zinc and drinking lots of fluid. May be psychosomatic, but I've read both help with the reload and so far it's worked for me.

Day before:
Really close 3-Pass shave, again to prevent rash the day of.
I'll also watch what I eat, avoiding anything that might be rough on the stomach or the bowels. Now's also when I try to hit the ATM and double check that I have all the correct contact info in my Hobby Phone. If she's given me a location already, I'll pop it into Google Maps and make sure I know where I'm going.

Day of:
After a sit on the throne to drop the kids off at the pool, I take a loooong hot shower. Scrub everywhere, paying particular attention to the parts I want her to pay attention to. Conditioner, face wash, all the bells and whistles, but nothing with a strong fragrance. After the shower, I'll do another quick shave if I've got a shadow. Brush, floss, and a listerine rinse. Moisturize, especially the hands, with unscented lotion (I've been told that rough dry skin is very uncomfortable on inner thighs and more sensitive parts) Comb the hair. I put off getting dressed as long as possible to give everything a chance to air dry, and reduce the chances of sweaty clothes.

Last Possible Minute:
Check the envelope. If we've been communicating by e-mail, check it one last time for last minute changes. Put on clothes. Load pockets with Gum/Mints, Keys, envelope, hobby phone, and a travel size purell and listerine. (Last two get left in the glove box) One last check in the mirror , touch up the hair, and then out the door.

If it's an outcall:
I only do outcalls in hotels. So in addition to the routine above, I'll call for towels as soon as I check in. Usually I'll try to stop at a Walmart or CVS for a couple of candle and some bottled water. Day of the appt, if theres any food or large stuff in the trash, I'll empty it out. (there's usually a large can down by the vending machines) I'll also make sure that all my stuff is packed away and he hotel signs/guides are all stashed in a drawer or the closet. Just before she arrives I'll light the candles.

Phew. Ok, reading that all at once, I realize I'm even more anal about this than I thought But it's gotten me good responses so far, so think of it what you will.

All of the above except I brush my teeth about 30 minutes before and then use mouthwash or mints immediately before going to the door. I have read that you increase the chance of catching gingivitis by aggravating the gums immediately prior to kissing etc..

A few days before the meeting, no coffee, dark liquor or spicy foods. Lots of fruit juice. Banana-pineapple-vanilla yogurt smoothies for breakfast.

And of course, all the great hygiene suggestions above.

Along with other things mentioned, i also fast or cut down, i like to go into an appointment a little bit on the hungry side. Definitely no steak the night before an appointment.

vitamin v generics: "Canadian generics cost a fraction of what Viagra costs". Does anyone know of a reliable on-line pharm site where I can order some & do I need my MD's prescription? (my last purchase was 6 for $94 at costco). thanks in advance for the info - sam. Originally Posted by samthesham
