Curious about opinions on Cohen

I'm not sure you get to whiff on the difference between "metal" (a substance) and "meddle" (to interfere in an issue that isn't your concern) and have anyone take the subsequent line about being "simple"; too seriously. YMMV.

That said, Russia interfering in the election is to be expected. Having the assistance of one of the campaigns is not.

You just invented a line of of thin air. "Just the opposite" is indeed untrue. Paying off one's bitches to avoid political disclosure is an in-kind campaign violation. You may believe otherwise, but the justice department already charged Cohen as such and have left Trump an unindicted co-conspirator to date because the DOJ has a policy about not indicting a guy who can simply pardon himself. The law is remarkably clear on this point.

Make no mistake, Trump will get a chance to testify to his thinking on this point, because he will either be impeached over it or indicted the day he leaves office, particularly if it is in 2020. Originally Posted by tannana

But spare me this crapola about how it is a campaign law violation to pay to keep a secret, secret. As I said, Cohen provided evidence it was done to protect Trump's marriage. Even if it was partly to avoid "political disclosure" and therefore might be considered an "in-kind campaign" contribution (if one stretches and tortures the definition) - what's the violation? There is no limit on how much a candidate can contribute to his own campaign. Did someone forgot to list the payment on a form somewhere? Well, fuck me sideways! I forgot to tie one of my shoes this morning! Are you going to indict me for that?

What irritates me most about desperate trump-hating ideologues like yourself is the way you keep driving our politics deeper and deeper into the sewer. You deter good, talented people from entering public service. Everyone has something in their past they don't want the world to know. People like you would make it illegal for anyone to try to keep their skeletons buried. You want to empower all those "opposition research" miscreants who run around looking for dirt on the other side.

Come to think of it, did Hillary Clinton list all of the money she spent for the Steele dossier on the proper campaign finance reporting forms? Were those payments concealed as "legal services"? Is Mueller investigating that? Why not?

How much campaign money did Hillary pay NBC and ABC to release the Access Hollywood video 3 weeks before Election Day? Was that properly reported on her campaign finance forms? Inquiring minds want to know! Is anyone investigating?

Btw, Harvard Law Professor Alan Dershowitz agrees with me. We need to stop criminalizing political differences.

Now that the whole mueller debacle has failed they are going to search the seven seas for information on trump to try and dismantle him. In the meantime the russians have already won. The lefties on of the dems are more communist than the great Vladimar himself. Let the dems go and make fools of themselves and split their party in two factions. The crazies, and the craziest.

There are going to be a few who will serve some time, and some lives have been ruined. But for the most part, it has very little to do, if anything with russian collusion.

And, I know I am biased, but the fucking Clintons, have gotten off with everything from rape, to lying under oath and prolly accessory to murder.

Why do you think they're requesting financial documents from the President now? Collusion has fizzled and obstruction is DOA.

And how can justice be obstructed if you have no crime to begin with? Justice isn't thwarted by opposing an investigation into an imagined crime.
