In 2013, while mayor of Braddock, Pennsylvania, John Fetterman said he thought he heard a dozen gunshots near his home and called 911, according to news reports at the time.

Fetterman chased and caught Chris Miyares, who is Black, and displayed a shotgun to detain him until police arrived.

Police said Miyares was wearing headphones and exercise clothes. They said he did not have a weapon and released him without filing any charges.

So after hearing lots of shooting around your neighborhood, and as an armed civilian, would you not be interested in finding out what exactly was happening? Even your byline says that's pretty big talk for a guy without a machine gun so, as a gun guy, tell me you would not I've done something similar if that happened in your neighborhood. careful= how do you know if Rodriquez was a person of color or not; but that's really not the case. I cited where Fetterman stated publicly what his intent was in the changes to the incarceration system. And yes, I do agree with the fact that the representation of criminals by whatever color is based upon who is doing the criming. THAT however is a totally different conversation.

Perhaps start up a thread on why there is such a high disparity of blacks and brown ppl incarcerated?

Not making excuses for parole board voting; I haven't seen much I don't know much about that part of the local news dribble and assertions, but I did read the factual paragraph that was mentioned above and cited. Parole is a funny bit of business anyway; why would anyone ever get paroled for a crime that a jury or judge sentenced them for, unless there was a change in law, or circumstance; ie DNA or other exculpatory evidence to overturn a conviction. I would likely not be a good parole board person, as I believe if you did the crime, you do the time normally. But a lot of the crimes ppl are involved in who seek parole are involved in drug convictions for drugs that are no longer illegal in many states / cases. But that's for a different thread. If you want to cite where the details on rodriquez or others where Fetterman was less than honorous in his vote, then please do so.
