Collars & Leashes

Practical
In general any type collar & leash will work; although padded & worked leather collars are preferred. Unpadded collars tend to abrade the flesh which 1)may not be acceptable (for a variety of reasons) 2) will distract from training. Training collars are generally heavier, thicker, more padded, softer and 2+ inches wide with at least 4 point attachments and sliders.

Leashes tend to be more ornate and thin as they are 98% mental. The 2% useful...well ever been slapped with a length of thin pliant leather? It welts.
Of that 2% there are several variations each with specific 'intentions'. Flat broad leather is a more pulling (wrap @ hand) and "heel' training type (easier to stand on flat broad than other type). Thin round leather - "slapper", chain for restrictive scenarios/show and of course each type above can also come with embellished (barbs, knots, metal etc to add more flavor & depth).
