Rarely enforced because maybe it’s rarely violated? Maybe the locals are aware of the statute and dont violate it. She was let off because the statute refers to people who are regularly employed in the state. Since she isn’t she was let off.

This makes the original arrest even more suspicious. I've been at clubs that had "famous" featured dancers, and the gal's name would be on the sign outside in lights, her face would be on posters all over the club, and prior to her set the DJ would go on ad nauseam about why the girl was famous. If the cops had been in the club for more than 5 minutes, even if they didn't know why she was famous, then they'd know she was from "out of town" and would maybe have given her a warning instead of arresting her. Even if they detained her after her set, the officers should have known the law and released her with a warning or fine or something. The whole taking her down to the station and arresting her bit seems a bit excessive and dare I say politically motivated somehow...

And not because I'm a black male in Fort Worth. His post makes perfect sense
Ive seen several instances in my 30+ years of going to clubs where featured dancers were arrested. Usually done by locals to show they are cleaning up the city.
