No he didn't. The WAPO author is twisting and distorting trump's simple plea for compromise to inflame hatred against anyone who wants to secure our borders. Surely you can see that.

The left's strategy is to conflate everything so the "logic" becomes border security = hatred of Hispanics = racism. Ergo anyone who supports border security is a racist.

This is an ugly, ugly fallacy being pedaled by WAPO. More than half the country supports border security AND deplores and condemns the El Paso shooter.

Think about it. This ugly fallacy is an attempt to turn logic upside down. The fact that some sick bastard goes on a shooting spree doesn't obviate our need for border security. In fact we need border security to PREVENT future atrocities. How did 9/11 happen? How quickly we forget!
