The Have's and the Have not's

Actually, it's the Ashe juniper tree that causes the problem of mountain cedar. In my Benadryl induced haze, I said spruce.

Longtime seasonal allergy sufferer.
Took me and my doc a few years to get something figured out but it works.
It is a daily nasal antihistamine 2x day and flutacasone as nasal 1x day.
The key is it needs to be taken year round otherwise if you are taking it when you get symptoms you are already behind the curve and won’t catch up. If you go into allergy season already taking it, it will certainly help. Mountain Cedar and Ragweed are my big issues. Now there are times when it just doesn’t quite do it but then it is when the pollen count to super unusually high and then pretty much everyone is suffering.

Hopefully this helps...

Actually, the rain seems to drive the pollen count UP! I always thought just the opposite. Thursday pollen count is supposed to be higher than ever. I don't understand except maybe it's the wind that often accompanies the rain. Originally Posted by alaine

After a rainstorm, you will breath no fresher, cleaner air for a while. Rain is fuel for the plants so pollen comes back stronger afterwards.

Zyrtec. My allergies are bad enough I take it every day. But I AM around a fair bit of animal dander and horse hair.

Got some prescription stuff that works.
My hay fever and smoking gave me mongo nasal polyps and continuous sinus infections.
Quit smoking, take some prescription stuff , had polyps removed, problem reduced to simply miserable.
As to cedars, where is Agent Orange when you really need it?

If I have a mild case I use a singular generic. On bad days I use Texas Cedar Fever, 6 drops under the tongue and it works well.
Allergy shots have eliminated 90% of my symptoms. I now get 2 shots every 2 weeks, not an issue.
