Dont give this jerk a second thought. You need to focus on your mom. I just lost my dad to COPD and it is a terrible process. Most long time hobbyists know how to read between the lines about posts of this jerks nature and how to get a feel for the genuineness or lack thereof of most providers. We know that sometimes things happen and they are not necessarily anyone's fault but they do. They get written up and people take them however they want to take them. Take care of your mom and leave this jerk to his own devices.
