STOP THE PRESSES! COG PRAISES OBAMA

Didn't Bush have a similar view?
Now, I know the timing of this announcement is political, in light of the President's disastrous speech yesterday, but this is a good and humane idea. ....
See, I told you I would comment when he does something right. It just doesn't happen very often.

We've got to secure the borders and introduce a sensible, systematic path to citizenship. All Obama did was create 10 million anchor babies in one day. It has nothing to do with "humane." And he pledged to uphold the constitution. Impeach now.

I do not have a problem with the kids getting to stay. I have a major problem with the president deciding which laws he has to enforce and unilaterally bypassing Congress. Had he quietly told the immigration department to not waste time finding and deporting kids in this category he would have accomplished the same result without making it public that he is violating the Constitution. Now he has created another reason for people to cross the border in hopes that they can avoid getting caught long enough for their kids to qualify. Now they will have an anchor baby that helps them stay.

Why didn't he propose to Congress a change in the law that prevents anyone other than the innocent child from benefiting. If he made the legislation narrow enough he could have probably gotten it passed and he could legally do what he is now illegally doing.

So COG I agree with your sentiment but disagree with the way he is doing it. This is purely a political move pandering to the Hispanic vote.
COG I'm really disappointed....

800,000 additional and now 'legal' job seekers. The 2012 college grads should be really happy -- gives them another opportunity to distinguish themselves from the crowd.

You may correct me if I'm wrong, but the policy is for anyone under 30 who has been here at least 15 years, etc. That means the person would have had to have been 15 or younger when their parents brought them here. They would also have to satisfy the other requirements.

I simply don't think that a minor has the legal capacity to formulate the intent to commit the crime of illegal entry if they enter with their parents. Therefore, they are not committing a crime by being here. Further therefore, there is no need to deport them, since they aren't, and haven't broken the law.

And I've no doubt Obama is doing this for the wrong reasons, but the fact remains, it is still the right thing to do.
Next Obama will pardon Polllard to lock in th Jewish vote.

That would not be as good a plan as this one. He should quit while he's ahead. But he won't.
I thought you believed in a Constitutional Republic.

Nobility of the decision aside, Obama did an end run around the Constitution!
Did someone say our military boy's are lazy. Trade 3 of ours for 1 wet. I must have misunderstood that comment.

Krauthammer's wrong. If they aren't guilty of a crime, they don't fall under the purview of the law. There is no law to do an end run around.
