It's all fun, but don't lose your grasp on reality or you risk being unable to participate in a real relationship, which offers more than sex (you decide if it is enough once you balance the good with the bad/annoying).

I travel, erratically, and find my time for relationships sporadic, at best. Like the OP, I'm in my early 30's, and I find most women my age are either desperate for kids, marriage, or just a man to cling to, which is an instant turn-off.

I'm not getting married again anytime soon (possibly never), I have my own little ones that I see as much as possible, and will not produce anymore, and women who cling to me just bother me. Yes, we went out once or twice. Yes, we had good/great sex. It doesn't mean I want you sleeping over every night, nor does it mean that I want you greeting me at the airport when I get back.

I still date, but its emotionally draining. Hobbying is a nice stress reliever - its simple, uncomplicated & available whenever I'm in the mood, which is quite often :-) If only my bank account was as horny as I am....

I hobby because I'm a maladjusted sex addict. I guess when it comes down to it I'm not suave or handsome, but I like occasionally fucking gorgeous women 10 years younger than me. I'd love to be the guy who can pull that off on a regular basis with just smooth talking and confidence. Unfortunately I'm not that guy. If you're getting bored with your pornstar GF, just imagine if she was plain looking with a very mediocre body at best. Welcome to my world. Don't want what I can get...can't get what I want. Thus I sometimes use my disposable income to indulge my sexual fantasies.

Bubbajay...I have no idea what your history is with this on and off again girl, so without knowing that this is just a guess. I hear over and over from men that all they want is appreciation. You brought that word up too. It seems she valued what you did by cleaning up more than the bath. If its an on again off again thing its probably chaotic and there are some past hurts that maybe get in her way of showing you appreciation. I'm sure that goes both ways. I'm divorced and I see now a lot of things I took for granted and wish I had appreciated but then...well, I won't go into my shit but anyway....if you are too nice...kinda sounds like you are pretty nice....bubble baths, towels in the dryer etc. Some women can't handle it. You know that saying....treat me like shit and I will love you forever. Be nice to me and I will run away. You get the picture. Back to your original question...why am I in the hobby? I'm very independant. I like my freedom. I have a high sex drive. I fear intimacy after having my heart ripped out and stomped on a few times and the hobby keeps me safe from falling in love and having my heart broken. I thought it kept me safe until I fell in love in the hobby. Anyway, it seems there is something so honest and simplistic about the arrangement of hobbyist and provider. There are no games, no expectations afterwards, and no ulterior sp? Motives. That right there...no ulterior motives is what is the most beautiful thing about the hobby to me. Of course there are games but not like in the real world. Also, I think one of my fetishes is having sex with strangers so it works out for me pretty good! Good luck and happy hobbying.

@britney...the history between us is a crazy one and more than i would like to get into. some of it is pretty embarrasing...but i will say it was crazy from the start...filled with insecurity and jealousy on both sides.
as for the 'nice guy' comment...i was an asshole when i was married to the best woman ever and took it all for granted. i learned a lesson and started treating women how my ex wanted to be treated and i found i could have almost any woman i wanted. i then started to be 'too nice' and realized just how bad it is to be too nice. i am pretty much a dick to my current gf because i can be. the cooking, bath and cleaning was really the first 'nice' think i have done for her in quite a while.
