I passed 3 Bucees that were still in the construction stages, I can't remember the towns I was in, I haven't seen one open for business yet and probably won't stop at one, they don't offer diddly for truck drivers except a well lit parking space. I will say the overhead has got to be through the roof. 30 urinals ? Sure would hate to be the guy who maintains all of those porcelain goddesses..
I don't think they cater to truckers. I saw signs in their parking lot that no trucks were allowed but saw two gas tankers parked in the parking lot.
There's only so many slurppies, beef jerky, and snacks that you can sell. Hard to beat 99 cents for a 20 lb bag of ice though.
Personally i think QT and racetrack has the right idea and are the perfect size. They are still my favorite gas stations...cheap gas, great selection of food and drinks. Buccees is just way too big...think they will have to evolve in five years to being something else besides just a gas station to survive...maybe full service grocery store too.
