Well, somebody has to say the honest truth here.

Just get over it!

Hey, it's only a cat!

There are some really serious problems in the world.

There is a bloody civil war going on in Syria and busloads of people are dying, a company here in the United States lost $400 million overnight because of a software glitch people have lost their homes and fortunes, a lunatic killed scores of people in a movie theater,

. . . but you're whining about a cat?

Sorry about your loss.....

Here is a book that really helped me when I lost my 12yr old GSD 2 yrs ago..... "Good bye friend" by Gary Kowloski - he is a Unitarian ordained minister from New England, via Harvard Divinity School - I have referred his simple, yet powerful book, to numerous friends and even to Tom Hanks when he lost his GSD last year - rec'd an email note from him (or his assist) actually thanking me.....

Wow it sure is nice to know how sympathetic the Eccie folks are. Guess I should have posted this on a pet sympathy board. Originally Posted by alluringava

Someone has to speak from the heart with sincerity.

Sometimes, before words can either heal or hurt, we must establish a credible baseline of truth if anything we say is to really mean something.

We need perspective. We need honesty.

. . . Just trying to pretend to be oh so nice we can get carried away with empty candy-coated words that only encourage and extend the pity party that never should have even started.

Actually, I wasn't sure without looking at your face if your post was authentic or just another one of those off-the-wall things.

I also did deliberate before posting, thinking that anyone who might be so down just because of a dead cat, might just just need a swift kick in the ass to snap back to reality.

As for your pathetic pity, you can keep it madam.

. . . I never indulge in such lunacies, but apparently you do!

I had a cat I named Sharkey when I was a kid, I found him in the middle of
the road with his little claws stuck in the asphalt, the next car that came by
and it would have been splat. I saved him and he was my best friend
and only playmate a lot of the time when I was little. One day he was just
gone, don't know what happened to him.

Man I still miss that cat.

Oh uhm the girl was just talking about her cat that meant a lot to her.
Whats wrong with that?

Now everybody go back to solving world hunger and stopping bombings
in Syria and( computer glitch's WTF )

I mean now you will be able to sense her cat is gone and no longer standing
in the way of World Peace.

JAZUUUS!
When you attempt to place value on one life over another it can turn in to a slippey slope with no end.A person with true compassion will understand that all life has value, and suffering is a terrible thing to see regardless of who, or where it comes from.

The people I have known in my life who almost always seem to be the first to offer their help in tragic circumstances are people who respect all forms of life.

The ones who try to devalue what their minds can not understand are usually the ones who do nothing.
