Why have Senators and Representatives gone ape shit over the people who illegally entered the Capitol yesterday, much more so than they did over the damage to property caused by the Black Lives Matter protests? It's because most of them are self-entitled pricks. They've voted themselves superior pensions, benefits and medical care to the rest of us. They get to tell the rest of us what to do. They're the masters in America. We must pay the taxes they impose and comport with the behavior they demand. Until not too long ago, they were even able to take whatever kind of inside information they could obtain from their privileged positions and use it to profit in the stock market, legally. Other Americans went to jail for that.

What happened was that the self-entitled pricks believed their own safety was at risk yesterday. Thus they are raised holy hell.

They were at very little risk of harm from the ragtag invaders that entered the Capitol yesterday. Apparently none were brave enough to talk with their uninvited visitors and calm them down. Instead they cowered under their desks. And this, along with the President, is the group we depend on to decide whether to send our young men and women to war.

I think the answer to your post is because that yesterday it was the senators and representatives whose asses were actually at risk yesterday and their collective asses were never at risk during any of the BLM protests.
