Providers, how would you handle a clinicaly depressed hobbiest

There are people - intelligent people - who feel the best solution to depression or to most emotional disturbances, is a friend. Not a psychiatrist, a friend.

Which is of no help to those who are depressed because they have no friends, lol

He clearly makes it clear that when he gets down on life, depressed, he calls you up for services. He has mentioned that he sometimes contemplates murdering himself and so forth.

But, at the end of the day, he smiles and wants to just have a happy time with you. He's a really good participator and you'd forget he's a walking wind-up doll. He tells you that an hour after every session he feels even more shittier but insists it's not you, it's him.

He has the money, from foreplay to ejaculation he's a wonderful guy, but he obviously needs depression medication.

Answer me this, would you as a provider continue to see him? Originally Posted by coefficient

I might even go so far as to give a candid talk to the person, and try to urge them to get seen by a doctor, that right now they can't see things clearly and think clearly while depressed. Continuing to not see him, could lead to mere dysfunctional thinking, and he might see it as confirmation of worthlessness. So that is a tricky thing handling someone like that. On the one hand, him seeing escorts could be a symptom of something much larger than simply depression. Since I am not a psychiatrist, I might tell him it is not healthy to continue a relationship with an escort(s) at this time, but let him know honestly that I am not turning him away because of anything other than concern for his mental well being.
sorry man, I cannot see you either..... depression can be contagious....... I need mine stiff
