WASHINGTON — The special counsel investigating Russian interference in the 2016 election disputed on Friday a report that said President Trump had directed Michael D. Cohen, his longtime lawyer and fixer, to lie to Congress about his role in negotiations to build a skyscraper in Moscow.
The rare public statement by a spokesman for the special counsel, Robert S. Mueller III, challenged the facts of
an article published by BuzzFeed News on Thursday saying that Mr. Cohen had told prosecutors about being pressured by the president before his congressional testimony.
“BuzzFeed’s description of specific statements to the special counsel’s office, and characterization of documents and testimony obtained by this office, regarding Michael Cohen’s congressional testimony are not accurate,” said the spokesman, Peter Carr.
Ben Smith of Buzzfeed is quoted above that :"In response, BuzzFeed editor in chief, Ben Smith stood by the reporting, calling on Mueller to be more specific.
“We stand by the reporting and the sources who informed it,” Smith said in a statement, “and we urge the Special Counsel to make clear what he’s disputing.”
“His and Anthony’s work has been proven to be true at every turn – and it’s interesting that these personal attacks are surfacing only now, as the facts become more dangerous for the individuals involved. BuzzFeed News stands by this story 100%,” the statement said.
Now it is back-walking and twisting, and claiming the reporters are in "danger". DPST media - Car's statement was clear and unambiguous
Let Mueller finish his investigation and present a report open to Congress and the American People. Full disclosure of findings, and progress one step at a time.
Sorry- DPST's - cannot call a Senate Trial for trump at this point.
