Another SCHOOL shooting

Very very sad , But its society today derange people just are not handled by the system , somebody said it threatening is Not a 1ad right .

This is a tragedy for the U.S. as a civilized nation. It seems this type of violence is getting worse and becoming more common. Is there a solution to this madness? I highly doubt that. I hope I’m wrong. We’re living in a new society. We’re living in a sad, often uncompassionate and brutal world.

My prayers and condolences to the families of the innocent young souls who got their lives taken away so soon. Sad, very sad 😢

Saddens me that the teacher who was one of the first victims, only had his empty hands to try to protect those kids. Imagine, if he had been allowed to carry a firearm? His protective response would have been much more effective.

When I was in school, we had guys bringing their rifles to school on headache racks in their trucks. We had shooting classes where you learned to respect and use a gun. Respect was taught, expected, and demanded. Nowadays, kids get away with all kinds of things. Some parents don't discipline and they sure don't want anyone else to discipline their kid. Schools are afraid to do anything. If we don't teach them to respect each other, to respect life, and that there are consequences to all actions, they will do what they think makes them feel better about themselves. If that's the case, then, teachers should be trained and licensed to carry. And, there are plenty of veterans out there in need of jobs. Hire them and they will drop the guys that come in firing before they cause too much injury.

I have a couple of relatives who are public school teachers. I have no doubt (with the proper training, certification, etc) they would not hesitate for a second to protect each & every student in their classroom(s) should a situation arise akin to yesterday's.

Dicey situation having several dozen teachers, all armed, running around on a school's campus with one (or more) shooter(s) on location. During a chaotic situation as such...the possibilities are endless...many of them ending badly, of course.

Perhaps an all-armed faculty would serve as a deterrence for would be assailants...we don't know. But this much we should know; if nothing is done, nothing will happen. And madness such as the tragedy in Florida will simply continue to take place.

A) I want balance on both. Citizens should not be deprived of either right without a compelling reasons. Making threats is a compelling reason.

you know what pisses me off, this kid killed all those people and injured many more, and he was handcuffed without a scratch. yet there are cops that will beat or kill someone for trying to run away. i don't get it.

There is a student interviewed who says she was walking alingside this guy in the halls when guns were being fired and Cruz was not holding the gun. She says if Cruz was involved, there had to be another shooter.

Yep. It could be an evolving area of the law. I dint think the line between threats and advocacy is as bright as the Court does. But there are limits on what kind of speech you can criminalize and there should be very substantial limits on such criminal prosecutions.

I'm a big time gun ownership proponent. If they make it illegal to buy a gun, do you truly believe that a person that finds it ok to murder someone would have any moral issues about breaking the law to buy a gun illegally? Meth is illegal but I'm sure if I put my mind to it, I could figure out how to buy it. It would be the same with guns. Maybe I'm just a natural born survivor, but I believe in fighting back and refusing to be a victim. I am a very responsible gun owner but I do carry a gun in my glove compartment and in my home.
I've taken lessons for years and I do not have children in my home so I feel it's a good choice for me.
It's my right to carry a gun according to the laws of my state.
As a single woman living alone, I'd hate to see that right taken away.
I do think all faculty in all schools should be armed. Perhaps then these cowards would stop picking on the vulnerable and unprepared.
