Does watching violence promote violence?

If there is a connection to what we watch and what we become than hopefully I will be a rich English aristocrat by watching Downton Abbey.

In all seriousness - that is pretty fetching show if I do say so myself, so long mates.
Does art imitate life, or does life imitate art? In a way, the fictional shows are like art. Are the violent tv shows imitating us, or are we immitating the tv shows when violence overflows?

One of the factors that made me curious about pay for play, was the sci fi series "firefly". The series wonderfully portrayed a "companion", which we would call an HDH on the board, as something beneficial. It definately speeded my curiosity of sex worker and to investigate how to get an escort.

I think it that a person disposed to violence can watch violence, and want to act it out.

How many people watched evil kneival as a child, and then went out and set up ramps and jumped their bicycles, and hurt themselves when they wiped out? What I am refering to is a "monkee see monkee do" effect which result in copy cat behaviour. The thing is, can we really blame the movie? People have to still be held responisble for their actions? Basically, all movies have warnings and ratings so a reasonable person can handle it emotionally.

With all the violence I have watched and all the porn I have watched ... I have never killed anyone or have made anyone orgasm. Now that taint right.
LOL. U may need to see the porn bloopers, because that's what they call it when a female pornstar actually orgasms. LOL.

The producers said "taint no way we can show that in the final cut"
In a nutshell, no.

Children's minds are not fully developed for rational thinking. If it were otherwise cartoons, violent or not, would have little appeal to them. As they grow older the ability to think rationally becomes stronger in almost all.

But not 100% all. For whatever reason(s) some brains do not make those final connections or whatever it may be. Even if all violence on TV and video games disappeared there is still real life violence for these types of people to get their ideas.

A lot here have said they enjoy watching violence, porn, or whatever. I'm pretty sure the majority of the population watch some. The difference with this majority is they know that in real life, to act out whatever, has serious real life consequences.
