Should General David Petraeus be demoted?

the defense department is considering demoting General David Petreaus 4 star General to lieutenant general. Originally Posted by The_Waco_Kid

Petreaus should not get demoted, because Hillarious had done the same or worse. Hillarious should get prosecuted if she has done the same or worse regardless of whether Petreaus can or will be demoted.

"Senior officials ought to be held to a higher standard of behavior than their subordinates," .... even when they are Clintons.

He was never disciplined in a military court as he was no longer in the military when the infraction occurred. We have former US senators collecting their full pension and getting all the perks of being an ex elected offical....while they serve time in prison! I would say that the military has no say in this matter as he was no longer under their orders. I have yet to hear of a retired Chief Petty Officer or officer being reduced or fined for committing a crime after military service. Anyone else have anything different?

She was writing a book about him, and perhaps through the information gathering details of his knowledge were disclosed. That's the problem with "draft" communications, as far as third-party resources, but when you open a draft from the "folder" it "transmits" through several servers. One has to track the location and operator of the "viewing" computer.

Additionally, it is my understanding that was a "pre-indictment" plea by Patreaus, which implies a complete investigation into all activities may not have been disclosed in details to the public media (or in court documents).

Well, the drama is over. The Army has decided that once is enough and Petraus is off the hook for further punishment. Interesting note; his mistress held a condidential security clearance for some of the information he provided unlike the Clinton lawyer who has no security clearance but still is holding classified documents provided by Hillary.

Some folks are apparently above the law. It's crazy how so many can't or won't see it for what it is.

IMO character in the military (any organization) is set by example from the top!

As for the OP question: YES! And irrespective of the political decision in the military, same answer.
