I think the best answer is draconian, near-quarantine measures for 2-3 weeks, with $1,000 or $2,000 funneled to everyone. that kills the virus faster than anything, and we can move on after a short stint in hibernation.

Here in Houston, mayor Turner did the wrong thing ordering so many closures. It's going to cause economic devastation. He needs to rescind and/or limit many of the closures.
This flatten the curve rhetoric is theoretical bullshit. I can see why logically it makes sense in Italy, a smaller country that's more densely populated. Here the social and economic damage is going to be far greater than a couple of hospitals making some tough decisions. We have excess capacity. Use it. That's why its there.
And for gods sake get the kids back in school. I don't want to hear in September we have to go thru this again because some kid is sick.
