Trump ended the 750 dollar fine for not having insurance. Joe will bring it back Chief Justice Roberts ruled it was a tax It will be just one of Joe's many broken promises not to raise taxes on anyone making less than 400,000 dollars.Joe's next move will be to strangle oil and gas supply causing a rise in price which is also a tax on poor working families Originally Posted by Oilrig

I thought this was about heathcare?

I know that my premiums went from $20 a week for a Cadillac Plan to $80 a week when we got saddled with Obamacare... and the plan was no longer Cadillac...

Cost me 4 times as much for less coverage... but the illegals got it for free....

Color me .... oh wait... we don't have colors anymore except to point out that all colors except white matter....
And if you say my life matters... you are a racist....

Undocumented immigrants also cannot access the Affordable Care Act’s marketplace health coverage ( here ).

Medicaid, which covers one in five Americans, is a government sponsored program that is intended to provide public health insurance to people with low income and limited resources, including those on Medicare ( here ). The eligibility criteria vary in each state ( here ).

It is possible for undocumented immigrants to get free access to medical emergency treatment. Medicare-participating hospitals must provide stabilization and screening services to any patient with an emergency medical condition, regardless of ability to pay ( here ).
Some locally funded programs also provide healthcare coverage to undocumented immigrants. Six states, including California and New York, and the District of Columbia use Medicaid state-only funds to cover low-income children regardless of their immigration status ( here ). California extended its healthcare coverage in 2019 and became the first state to use Medicaid funds to also cover young undocumented immigrants from the ages 19 to 25.

Laws are in place to limit the U.S. taxpayers to paying for undocumented immigrants only in “extreme circumstances” ( here ). According to the Kaiser Family Foundation (KFF), these emergency costs represent 1% of the overall cost of Medicaid ( here ).

Generally, undocumented immigrants face many hurdles to getting health care in the United States. These include legal restrictions, inability to afford private insurance, and not seeking other options due to fear of deportation ( here ).

The KFF reports that 47% of undocumented immigrants are uninsured. The think tank Public Policy Institute of California (PPIC) says the number is 60% to 70%. Undocumented immigrants are excluded from government marketplaces like Medicare and ACA. Only emergency treatment is required to be administered to people regardless of their immigration status.

Second, Congress enacted the Employee Retirement Income Security Act of 1974. It exempted corporations from state regulations and taxes if they self-insured. Companies took advantage of these lower-cost and flexible plans. Third, home health care took off, growing by 32.5% a year

After 1998, people rebelled and demanded more choice in providers. As demand increased again, so did prices. Between 1997 and 2007, drug prices tripled, according to a study in Health Affairs.

The nation’s reliance on the health insurance model increased administration costs. A 2003 study found that administration made up 31% of U.S. health care costs. It's twice the administrative costs in Canada. About half of that is due to the complexity of billing.

The reliance on corporate private insurance created health care inequality. Those without insurance often couldn't afford visits to a primary care physician.

Now you can add ObamaCare as a reason for future price increases, which probably untrue, but fox news said it happened, so it must have

If anyone lost their insurance coverage, that they had previously before Obamacare, 2009, they most likely were going to lose it, or not be able to afford it in a few years anyways... 2012,2016,2020..... might have gotten a few more miles out of it, maybe 5-10 years more.

1990 most fulltime jobs offered paid healthcare and pensions, 2020 both are almost figments of one's imagination. To think you could afford, or your plan from 2008 wouldn't change by now and that you would still have it is unlikely at best.
