Yes it is, but it's its own service. You use it via app only.

Sign up with an email address (for instance, for my hobby one, I used my hobby email, and used Victoria as my first name, of Houston as my last), then you can pick your username (@Victoriaofhouston for me), and you're on.

People can then send you money by searching for your username. Once you have the funds you transfer them to a bank account. Your bank account is kept totally anonymous from other users so they can never see that info. I usually receive my funds in 1 -2 days tops every time I transfer from Venmo to my bank account.

Venmo is really good!

And in the fall, people are using iPhones as perhaps a hobby phone, you can pay via iMessage and Apple Pay. Of course, if you're comfortable with that method.
