Honestly though, Gold doesn't get you much of anything. Ive been Exec for as long as I can remember and most times the free upgrades are worthless. The only thing really good about exe is the first boarding, check in luggage breaks and the system wide upgrades you get. These are all important features for me. I think when you've been at the elite level so long, you forget how the "common folk" have to travel.
I've long given up on upgrades, and they are not that important to me if I get an exit row window seat. I get them about once every two years. I have over 50 segment saved up.
