Cheesesteaks and hot pork sandwichs with sharp provolone and broccoli rabe from John's Roast Pork in Philly. Bacon cheeseburgers from Rossi's Bar & Grill in Trenton.
Further kudos for Five Guys Burgers & Fries.

Not saying it is "bad" but I've been underwhelmed the few times I've been to Five Guys. Fatburger is another chain that I've not been impressed with
The best worst food award in Atlanta goes to The Varsity. Onion rings and their chili dogs are their biggest sellers. Lots of grease.

When in California, In and Out Burger-Animal style!

Waffle House late night isn't great food, but it is kind of iconic after a long night out
Another one that is great, but an acquired taste is Cincinnati-style chili. I can't pass thru Cincy without stopping at Skyline for a 5-way & a couple of cheese coneys
Another bad food that does it for me are Loaded (or "Everything") Nachos. No particular place. Pretty hard to mess up.
One other burger chain I like is Fudruckers
Another local thing I like that I've seen mostly in St. Louis is Fried Ravioli often called "Toasted Ravioli" -- I'm really surprised it hasn't caught on more broadly -- it isn't a feat to make -- you throw ravioli in a deep fryer for a couple of minutes & serve with marinara sauce.
