If anyone truly sits back and reads that definition it should not be offensive. Also there are plenty of people not in this lifestyle that feel what we participate in here is wrong but do we get offended by it. Nope and we keep doing what we want. Denotation and connotation are two different things sometimes. I think the word whore has a negative connotation in modern culture which far exceeds it's literal meaning. I would never call a civilian a whore it would be like calling her a cunt in my mind. Providers, well that's a different story since obviously in a literal sense they fit the definition.
