A question for providers regarding vouching and providing references.

Fair enough. But I can tell you, most of the people in this thread know exactly what's going on.

I think these ladies' answers help put into perspective the times when giving a bit more than "He's safe" does benefit all. It's up to everyone to know their own comfort level and to be aware of what information is being circulated. Then they can decide for themselves.

I apologize for the fact that there are those that tend to follow me around on their own personal vendetta.

I appreciate the responses to date and I have no intentions of cutting or pasting anything from this thread or linking to this thread or the one in Austin in regards to the matter he is discussing. Certainly what I learn here will color my opinion as to whether what I did should have been remotely possible.

I also have no desire to discuss that issue here in this thread. Perhaps the MODs in this forum can help Mr. Deere understand that derailing a thread here is not handled the same as in Austin.

that's a sample of the kind of things said by whispers in the first few pages of his thread challenging her about this "massive information leak".

i've asked him how ridiculing her age, her looks, or the number of clients she sees is relevant, but he refuses to answer.

Believe me, john, we understand that. But you're missing her point that it also brings attention to some negative press about her. I'm with Mynx on this one; I'd be peeved if I were her. I'm not at all white knighting for Whispers here, as I'm somewhat aware of the hostile image he has created for himself on this board, but he didn't name her in this thread. Most people in national had no idea about the fiasco in San Antonio (nor do we care, I might add) until you posted it here. You are doing more to damage her rep here than he is. As far as most of us knew or cared, this was just a discussion about reference tactics and practices. You're bringing the drama here.

Sometimes less if I'm very familiar with the guy and I know his type (and therefore can be relatively sure he contacted the lady in question.) What I share is usually not anything that could identify him, specifically, but more the general attitude and personality she could expect. Whispers isn't using me or Caroline. Wherever the topic came from...it's a valid one. If you would have let it be, I would hazard a guess that most people would have side somewhere in the middle or even sympathetic to the provider.

Maybe y'all need an analogy.
