Unfortunately, that place is about as far from Puerto Plata as you can get in the DR. It would be a good 6-8 hour drive, or a plane flight and a couple hour drive. I have asked if there is a similar place on the north coast.

KC, I'd love to hear more about the Central and South American vacations.

In particular I'd like to take a vacation primarily for scuba but have lots of opportunity for adult recreation when the scuba isn't happening.

Panama and Columbia have been on my radar, and Brazil would certainly be of interest!

The Philippines sound great, but it costs so much to get there, both in dollars and time, that I'd have to spend a LONG time on the vacation to justify it. A good location much closer would really fit my needs. Maybe rather than once a year it would be a couple times a year get away.

I mentioned Panama City because it is an up and comer. It is quickly becoming like San Jose, Costa Rica as the preferred destination for international working girls. I'm told that has to do with changes in Costa Rica's visa laws. I'm not sure though, as I haven't been there yet. But my big-time travel buddies tell me it is like Costa Rica used to be: lots of variety, low prices, girls who aren't quite so "professional".

Colombia is my current favorite location for an "a la carte" vacation. I just think the Colombian women are the most beautiful in the world. It may be a tie between Colombia and Venezuela, but as long as Hugo Chavez is in charge of Venezuela I won't go back there. Pity.

Anyway, Bogota has lots of good opportunities for mongering, but it can be expensive (it is a big city, after all). Cartagena is a major tourist city and of course draws in ladies from all over. There is a beach, although it isn't great. Prices are going to be higher than the rest of the country, but they are used to tourists so you will get along.

I prefer cooler weather and head into the mountains of Colombia, to Medellin. Ladies from here are called "paisas" (country-girls), and they are the finest you'll ever see. Just sitting in a park eating a sandwich watching them walk is a treat. The downtown is full of these hidden "casas" where you can see a parade of ladies and take one back to a room for about $20. Every strip club is a bordello and even the streetwalker strolls are full of women who would turn heads anywhere in the US. Of course they have escort agencies and all kinds of other ways to meet higher-class ladies.

The problem with Medellin is that no one speaks English. Seriously, it is almost unknown. They have no tourist trade to speak of. If you don't speak Spanish you will need to learn some, or hire a guide, or just make do with pointing and grunting. If you are interested in going, check out http://www.medellinmansion.com/ . It is a hotel owned by an Australian and an American and they cater to guys on sex holidays. There are usually 5-10 working girls hanging around the pool, and Boyd knows every casa in town and will give free guided tours.

But Medellin is in the mountains so it won't work for your scuba vacation. Although direct flights are available from many places. Oh, and Colombia counts as part of the Caribbean for airline miles rewards, at least with American. It is a lot cheaper than the rest of South America (like Brazil).

Brazil is probably the sexiest country in the world. Rio is darned expensive, but you can find anything there. Anal sex is like the national past-time, and is considered normal. It is a huge city and of course a major tourist attraction so you will get along fine without knowing Portuguese (I'm assuming you don't ). Women from all over the country go there and the variety will blow you away. From the most European-looking blondes to the darkest-skinned ebony beauties and everything in between.

I've only been there once, so I don't consider myself an expert, but I know guys who swear by Brazil as the ultimate destination. I have read reports and I can understand their love for it. So many options, so much variety! And of course as a tourist destination it has a lot of advantages. It's easy to tell someone you are going to Rio. When I say I'm going to Medellin, everyone asks "why?"

Some say it is the world's largest brothel. I'm not sure how they measure these things (area, number of girls?) but it is certainly big. I've read quite a few reports that the women here are nothing special, and ask high prices. The island is a major tourist destination for Europeans (it is a Dutch colony) so lots to do when you are not at Campo. I'm sure there is good scuba in the area.

I said in my first post, DR is the most convenient for most Americans. They speak Spanish and most of the ladies are darker-skinned. if either of those things is a problem then you might try somewhere else. Blackbeard's is a great starting place. They will hold your hand through the process and it doesn't cost an arm and a leg.
