Well these types of shows may not be "staged" but it seems like they only show worst case scenarios. Drug addicts, girls who have an abusive pimp, girls who got into this line of work due to a broken home, etc.

Which I'm sure interviewing a professional escort who makes great money, looks great, no pimp, doesn't use drugs, etc wouldn't make for a very interesting show.
They are specifically looking for certain things, signs of possible pimps in the backpage ad, bruises on the body of the provider, possible signs of addiction etc. It seems some of these ladies really do want out, and if they can offer true services like housing and clothing, and make it as easy as possible on these ladies, than it's okay with me.

As much as I hate to say this. These things happen but I see it more often with the Hispanic brothels like these cantinas all over the outskirts of Houston. These are creepy places that look like rundown bars. I don't know why people visit these places.

The girls are normally supplied by gangs who control their family in their home countries through blackmail. I hope they get exposed.
Haven't seen it, don't intend to, but I hear many ladies are quite unhappy with the way it misrepresents women who have chosen to do this as a profession. Most of us are not in dire straights, aren't being trafficked, don't have pimps, treat ourselves and our clients respectfully, don't need to be rescued by God or Man, and don't fall into the same LE-and-media bulltwinkie stereotype of escorts/providers/companions that this show continues to shamelessly perpetuate.

Arts & Entertainment? Check out their schedule. The channel is becoming a cauldron of crime show reruns, sensationalism, and trash reality. I'd say don't waste your time watching this blarney. Originally Posted by Fancyinheels

Just watched the first episode I had recorded....biggest crock of bullshit I've ever seen, fuck A&E....and to think I could have spent that time watching History Channel or something cool....fuck'em, they shoulda had Geraldo host it instead of the evangelical homo....yeah, it would have still been fake, but at least more entertaining...js Originally Posted by Russ38

Thats why I dont like to see pimped girls.

Her pimp is white. Thought all pimps were black?????
Watched the Houston episode.
To show all escorts, providers, hookers whatever you wish to call us in this light is awful.
I am not beaten,I enjoy what I do and in fact it helped me to overcome some real life bull shit.
And what other way could I have met some really good friends and marked off my fuck it list one by one? I felt sad for all these girls on 8 minutes, mostly because If they really were pimped they were probably in trouble after they left with no money. I'll watch the next one, mostly so I can yell at the tv and be grateful for the wisdom and support I have received over the past few years.
As much as we all bitch about this board and it's drama, I am thankful that I am not in these ladies sisituations, and truly hope they receive the help THEY want.

She can officially use this in her BP ad now!

I just happened onto this show last night, and watched 3 or 4 episodes. If anything it shows you have to very careful with BP. Also nice to know what to look for in ads with pimps
I did notice one of the older ladies was not pimped and mainly struggled with addiction. They did offer her help and hopefully she is still sober.
Of course there are some of you ladies out there that are doing it strictly because you want to not because someone is forcing it - but this show is targeting the ones that are being forced to, have no other way out, and need help. that's how i see it.

I watched it last night and the girl "courtney" with the broken rib, I was actually IN jail with back in Nov. when I was still newbie friendly and got caught up by webster police, it tripped me out to see her on the show the show. The show is not staged and yes they are looking for girls that have obvious signs of being trafficked or on drugs. The show is a reminder of the ugly side of this industry and I hope the girls that need help, get it.

I think what this "team" is doing is great. Locate girls that are forced, help them get out, help them get of drugs, etc.

I think putting it on television is horrible. One, the situation these girls have been through shouldn't be entertainment. And two, how good is their rehabilitation going to be when their picture has been broadcast? The episode I just watched said that one of the girls is now taking community college courses. So, how will that be for her the first time a co-student says, "Hey, I saw you on TV last night."

IMHO, being on this nationally broadcast show will create another obstacle for the girls who truly want out, but can't see the way.

Also, what percentage of these issues would be deceased if things were legalized and regulated?
