I don't so much as avoid N,S,E,W... I go by what area of the city they're in. Certain areas I avoid- Wilkensburg, Lincoln/Larimer, etc.

For the past 30 plus yrs., my job required me to travel the metropolitan area. Some neighborhoods deserve the bad rap that they get. All cities have their shady areas. If a girl is located in a shady locale, take a test ride before committing, if it looks like a shithole from the outside, .... Personally, I have been traveling 40-45 min. to Brentwood, aside from parking, have no complaints.

Brentwood is a somewhat decent area.

Pittsburgh is an amazingly beautiful sight for the first time visitor,
and the countryside makes for some great daytrips. Plenty of things to do 24/7 and most of the people are cool even if they do act like jerks regarding sports.

The real part of Brentwood is good the part close to Carrick has turn to shit. Haven't had much luck finding anything reasonably worth while in shills
