Granted, I don't have a lot to compare, but I ate at Baker's Ribs in Houston, and Franklin BBQ in Austin. Baker's Ribs was alright, but Franklin...….oh Franklin. I waited in that ridiculously long line from 7:00am (lol hoping to be the first guy there, and I wasn't!!!). But that Brisket was life changing for me. It was cool too because I got to talking with one of the regulars there as we stood in line. We ended up eating together and he introduced me to Aaron Franklin too. Got a tour of the pit area and for a guy who knows next to nothing about smoking meat, it was pretty awesome to meet BBQ brisket royalty.
On a side note. I know I mentioned Tex Mex and BBQ, but are there any other "must eat" things in Dallas? Any specific dessert (seems like a lot of places offer banana pudding for some reason, or maybe it's just a BBQ thing?) places, burger, or "other" stuff I may want to research?
